
Yesterday Ethan came over and he and I tried our luck with our first batch of homemade beer, Cervesa Bueno from Folsom Brewmeister. The process went very smoothly and took just under three hours to complete. We racked our wort into a sanitized bucket and added yeast and our beer is in the fermenting stage for 7-10 days. In the evening Morgan, Ethan and I met up with Jen and her friend Karina at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse for dinner before going to the Historic Roseville St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. For the most part it was a great night, and definitely something I’d like to do again. We made it to 5 of the 6 bars, sorry Onyx Club!

Morgan bought me a starter kit probably 2.5 years ago and I’m going to finally get off my fears of screwing it up and brew at home. I started reading my book today to prepare for Saturday. At noon Ethan, Morgan and I (maybe more) are going to make Cervesa Bueno, a light Mexican style beer. In a couple of weeks it will be bottled for consumption. I’ll update as the process unfolds!
