Ethan’s Welcome Home

When Ethan got off of work yesterday we met up at the Auburn Alehouse to get a couple of beers and some lunch. I had an IPA and IRA to go with my Pulled Pork Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries, which I highly recommend! We then met up with Carrie at Beermann’s in Roseville to get a couple more brews. I’m not a big fan of the Beermann’s beers and yesterday was no different, but they are the right price and the atmosphere is fun so we keep going back. After Beermann’s we caravaned to my house where Morgan met up with us with two Old Town Pizza pizzas! Val and Mel trickled through the door and we spent most of the night playing Cranium, it was so much fun! My team (Morgan + Mel) lost both games. The night wrapped up a few minutes after midnight and Ethan took home a mix and match 6-pack. Apples to Apples and Cranium are my new favorite games!

Bianca’s 40th Birthday at the Owl Club

Bianca celebrated her 40th Birthday Party in style on Saturday night, 40’s style that is! There was a DJ working the room all night along with Jagermeister Girls and their neverending assortment of schwag. We came away with a hat, shirt, two neckalces, and two lanyards, not to mention a good buzz! Russ, Morgan, Mason, Ethan, Mel, Val, Jennifer, Megan, and Zach all showed up for the event along with all of the Owl Club regulars. We all danced the night away and we wish there were more pictures to prove it, but we guess you’ll just have to take our word for it. You can view pictures from Bianca’s Birthday here.

William’s 1st Birthday Party

On our way to Madera on Friday we stopped at Hero’s Sports Lounge and Pizza Company in Modesto to get some dinner, try some St. Stan’s beer, and watch some March Madness. St. Stan’s has a taproom opening on April 8th by the way! We arrived at Will and Lisa’s house at 8:15PM. Saturday morning we went to the grocery store for some breakfast burritos followed by helping Lana move into her new home a stone’s throw from Will and Lisa. At 2:00PM William’s 1st Birthday Party started and judging by the pictures you can see he loved his cake! We had to leave around 5PM to head back to Roseville for Bianca’s 40th Birthday Party, but it was great to see Will’s sister’s family again, we miss the kids! Home Brewing and Pub Crawl

Yesterday Ethan came over and he and I tried our luck with our first batch of homemade beer, Cervesa Bueno from Folsom Brewmeister. The process went very smoothly and took just under three hours to complete. We racked our wort into a sanitized bucket and added yeast and our beer is in the fermenting stage for 7-10 days. In the evening Morgan, Ethan and I met up with Jen and her friend Karina at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse for dinner before going to the Historic Roseville St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. For the most part it was a great night, and definitely something I’d like to do again. We made it to 5 of the 6 bars, sorry Onyx Club!
