At Noon we pulled into Auburn and spent a few hours in the park closest to Reese, Tammy, Papa, and Pama’s house. For lunch there was barbecued chicken and ribs with all the sides followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. Unfortunately Russ’ nephew, Jordan, wasn’t feeling well so our time in Nevada City was spent with just his parents instead of his sister Leslie’s family as well. We had ham sandwiches with more side dishes. Arriving back in Roseville at 9:00PM we immediately went to sleep after the long day. Browse our Easter pictures here.
Filed under: Celebration Tags: EasterWe took a day trip to Oakland and Berkeley to visit a few of the local breweries that we hadn’t been to, and then later in the afternoon we got to see bits of pieces of the Women’s Final 4 games. Our first and only stop in Oakland was Pacific Coast Brewing Company, the brewery is in a building built in 1876 and is located very close to the Oakland Convention Center. The look and feel of the brewery is very cool, growing up in an old bowling alley, I am partial to that old funky look. Our 2nd stop was at Star Grocery in Berkeley, a small grocery store that has a nice beer selection, although I think they need some more refrigerator space. I found myself pulling bottles from in front of others to find even more varieties. Jupiter was our 3rd stop, and my personal favorite, they had a great outdoor patio that was packed! The service was great and the beer was very flavorful. 4th stop was at Triple Rock Brewery, just a few blocks from Jupiter. Triple Rock is the oldest originally owned brewpub in America and the fifth oldest brewpub to ever open. Our last stop was at Pyramid Alehouse, we stopped here because it was close, mostly. Pyramid was recently purchased and has a lot of changes going on, most noticible yesterday was that Rollick was all over and the Amber Weizen had been discontinued, boo! We finished our day by arriving back in Roseville and stopping by BJ’s to watch the rest of the second NCAA game and then getting some yogurt at Big Spoon. View pictures from our beer tour here.

I’d thought it would be nice to start sharing some stats with people who are interested. I’ll be posting a PDF similar to the one below each month with a summary of how our website is doing. You’ll find a link to the March report of russandmorgan.com in PDF format here.

I had an IPA and IRA to go with my Pulled Pork Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries, which I highly recommend! We then met up with Carrie at Beermann’s in Roseville to get a couple more brews. I’m not a big fan of the Beermann’s beers and yesterday was no different, but they are the right price and the atmosphere is fun so we keep going back. After Beermann’s we caravaned to my house where Morgan met up with us with two Old Town Pizza pizzas! Val and Mel trickled through the door and we spent most of the night playing Cranium, it was so much fun! My team (Morgan + Mel) lost both games. The night wrapped up a few minutes after midnight and Ethan took home a mix and match 6-pack. Apples to Apples and Cranium are my new favorite games!
